Job Description

The Property Manager role is working for a Class A Apartment Community located in Westlake Village with 250 units and a team of maintenance crew and leasing staff running the property.

The management firm owns and manages over 30 communities through Los Angeles, Ventura, and the San Fernando Valley. They are third-generation, privately-held, managing everything inhouse offering a familial environment. Due to the volume of their assets, opportunity for growth exists for individuals demonstrating commitment and value within the organization. 

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience as a Property Manager. They will also be bilingual in Spanish.

About the role:

  • Provide direction and leadership to leasing personnel, maintenance personnel, and vendors
  • Schedule and oversee turns for all apartments
  • Oversee posting, collection, and depositing of rents
  • Enter data into property management software
  • Regularly tour property to inspect repair work and overall property appearance
  • Spot check maintenance personnel to ensure quality and completion of work
  • Prepare weekly reports (e.g. activity reports, eviction status, 3-day notices, etc.)
  • Coach, train, counsel office personnel on new policies and practices
  • Maintain a management system that exhibits organization and efficiency
  • Successfully manage maintenance personnel, office personnel, and vendors
  • Develop employee performance to ensure best practices are used
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and problem-solving abilities with regards to resident concerns
  • Uphold company policies and procedures to ensure correct methods are used
  • Maintain an open line of communication with Regional Manager as well as other staff

Job Requirements

About the candidate:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (PLUS)
  • Bilingual (Spanish) (PLUS)
  • 2+ years’ experience in property management (MUST)
  • Familiarity with Fair Housing laws and regulations (PLUS)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (MUST)
  • Proficiency in Yardi or other property management software (MUST)
  • Desired Personality Traits and Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, extremely organized and able to multi-task, exercises good judgment, possesses strong negotiation skills and excellent follow through.

The position is full-time with a 40-hour work-week offering full benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid time off (vacation and sick time) plus a 401k.
