A well-established non-profit organization in the healthcare industry has an immediate opening for a Medical Records Coordinator in the Los Angeles.

Our client is a Los Angeles based, non-profit tissue recovery organization. They administer the process of matching tissue donors with recipients, and offer additional services to those involved, such as bereavement counseling, application preparation, evaluation and more. The Medical Records Coordinator plans, develops, coordinates, and supervises medical record activities, and staff. They play a vital role in making certain that patient data is compiled, redacted, updated, and organized accurately in compliance with regulations for our clinical research studies.

About the role:

  • Provide support to the development and information department
  • Document, file and retrieve data
  • Handle communication with regard to records for internal and external entities
  • Responsible for collecting and processing information
  • Review data reports and communicate with the involved teams
  • Provide timely reporting to meet goals
  • Responsible for the review of incoming charts and contacting hospital to obtain outstanding records
  • Additional duties as needed

Job Requirements

About the candidate:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (MUST)
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (MUST)
  • 2+ years’ experience processing medical records (MUST)
  • 2+ years’ experience in the medical or health science background (MUST)
  • Desired skills: Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, legal aspects of health information, coding and abstraction of data, statistics, database management, quality improvement methods, and computer science.
